Sean Harris

Field Operations & Building Science Consultant

Meet Sean Harris, a dedicated Building Science Consultant who's all about improving air quality and enhancing lives. With an extensive professional background and an HVAC License that's as current as ever, Sean brings a wealth of knowledge to the Positive Energy team.

While his journey officially began when his PE email was set up in May 2011, Sean's involvement goes way back. Sean has been developing his interest in residential home construction since participating in a remodel project, certified by Austin Energy’s Green Building Program in 2005. With a Bachelor's of Business Administration, he blends business acumen with his passion for better buildings, passive house concepts, and sustainability.

Sean's impact on Positive Energy's projects is tangible. With in-the-field installation experience, he bridges the gap between design and reality. His contributions ensure that every project not only looks good on paper but functions optimally for the people who inhabit the spaces.

Sean not only oversees the field operations of Positive Energy, including building science consulting, product development, performance testing, but he also runs another company called IAQ Texas. IAQ Texas offers a range of services designed to improve homeowners' indoor air quality - from system assessments and Aeroseal duct sealing to the new Aerobarrier enclosure sealing system.

Positive Energy projects hold a special place in Sean's heart. The shared enthusiasm and commitment to top-notch craftsmanship energize him, creating a collaborative environment that produces exceptional results. Among his colleagues, Sean finds kindred spirits who share his fervor for building science. His pride in his work stems from its tangible impact on indoor air quality, which directly influences people's health and well-being.

Outside of work, Sean finds joy in family time, living life in the fast lane with fast cars, and seeking thrill and tranquility through mountain bike rides. His favorite book, "Moisture Control for Residential Buildings" by Dr. Lstiburek, is a testament to his dedication to his field. His favorite quote, "Whatever you are, be a good one," by Abraham Lincoln, reflects his commitment to excellence.

An interesting tidbit about Sean is that he's collected over 100 speeding tickets, a testament to his zest for life. Sean Harris isn't just a consultant; he's a driving force for healthier buildings and a vital component of the Positive Energy family.
